Women, from my experience you tend to like sad pouty quiet looking guys?

I think this because most of the girls that smiled and approached me and liked me did so when I was in a state of aloofness and not not smiling and charming. I am an AB personality with A being dominant but it was usually when I was in laid back B-mode with my naturally pouty curved lips that girls made passes at me. Why? Are most of you just attracted to melancholy and negative figures? You think those kinds will be loyal to you as opposed to the gregarious type? Or is it a motherly instinct thing and you just want to nurse and nurture someone who looks hurt and vulnerable? Are you sympathizing or empathizing when you get attracted to those types? Please speak you mind.
