Did I take the pregnancy test at the right time?

I had unprotected sex on june 9th and got my period the next day (June 10th) and it lasted 5 days heavily. Ive hardly hadnany pregnancy symptoms but I was really STRESSED about being pregnant and on June 27 I started to bleed again lightly and it finished the next day (June 28). People said it was unlikely i was pregnant and the light bleeding could be from stress but I took a pregnancy test the same day and it came out negative. Did i take the pregnancy test at the right time?
